The design began as a pencil sketch which was scanned into the computer. Colors were added in Photoshop.

The entire helmet is covered in frisket paper and the design is drawn on the paper. Changes requested by the client are made on the drawing.

Areas to be sprayed are cut with an X-acto knife. The base colors are sprayed with Auto Air paint. The detailed spraying is done with Liquitex acrylics.

After the air brushing is done, the frisket paper is removed and details are painted with a paintbrush.

The helmet is finished except for the clearcoat and tape removal. Click on the helmet to see a larger image.
